PriceFitters offers porcelain lining as an irregular surface treatment for its customers. PriceFitters stocks single glass lined bends as a standard product and double glass lined bends as a custom solution for extremely abrasive environments. When conveying highly abrasive plastic resins, it is common to experience premature tubing wear through, especially in the long radius bends, sweeps, and elbows. Pricefitters recommends porcelain enamel or glass lining as a method to combat elbow wear through caused by abrasive materials.
Porcelain lining is a glassy composition that is applied evenly on the interior wall of the bend or sweep elbow and then baked on at a low red to bright red heat. As the elbow heats, the glass melts evenly across the inner surface of the tube providing a durable wear resistant surface measuring 7 out of 10 on the MOHS hardness scale. Porcelain or glass lined elbows and sweeps have a service life that is approximately 12 times that of a standard stainless steel bend used for conveying abrasive plastic resins. PriceFitters also offers shot peening and spiral grooving treatments.
